About the Abbey GuesthouseThe Abbey Guest House is a long standing bed and breakfast house close to the city centre of York. We receive many repeat visitors who find that the location and facilities offered are just right for a bed and breakfast experience in the city. The Abbey was bought in 2006 by Gill and Alec Saville and between us we have around over 60 years of experience in customer service. We also travel widely and have a good appreciation of what it is like to be a guest as well as a host. Our aim is to provide our guests with a contemporary guest house experience, some ‘home from home’ hospitality and especially a stay tailored to the guest’s particular needs. We have decorated and furnished the house to give a warm but not ‘chintzy’ feeling - no flowery décor here! We are recommended by (among others) Rough Guide to England We take a close interest in tourism in the city of York and in the county of Yorkshire are members of Visit York (York Tourism Bureau) Of course, it is important to us that we maintain high standards and we have been assessed by Visit Britain’s 4 Star Accommodation provider. |
