Breakfast at the Abbey Guest House in York

Get your day off to a great start with our delicious breakfast, served in our sunny breakfast room overlooking the river.

We believe that our breakfast is a key part of your stay with us, so we use high quality ingredients and cook your meal fresh to order – this may take a little time but we think it’s worth it.

Where possible we use local produce; our sausages are made exclusively for us by our local butcher and keep our regular guests coming back for more.

We are able to cater for most dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free, please advise us when booking.

We proudly hold the Visit England Breakfast Award and our suppliers include;

  • Yorkshire Tea, from Taylor’s of Harrogate
  • Tony Neary Butchers, for our bacon & handmade pork sausages
  • Bracken Hill Farm, for locally-made jams and marmalades
  • Local free range eggs

Our delicious home-made bread is available fresh each morning.

Our Menu

Guests can choose from a range of cereals, fruit and yoghurt, toast and preserves, the Full English Breakfast and at least two lighter alternatives such as Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs, American-style Pancakes, Eggs Benedict or Porridge.

We vary our menu to make the most of seasonal ingredients and regularly offer homemade dishes such as Spring Granola, Summer Fruit Salad and Winter Compôte.
