Welcome to the Abbey Guest House.  The Abbey is a friendly, family run guest house close to the centre of the beautiful city of York. We offer bed and breakfast serving a full English breakfast with special diets catered for. Our bed and breakfast offers riverside accommodation overlooking the River Ouse.

We are located right on the riverside within easy walking distance to the city centre of York and to all of York’s main attractions – including the Railway Museum, York Minster, Castle Museum, Jorvik and many more.  See our Attractions page for more details of what to see on your stay in York.

If you fancy exploring the rest of North Yorkshire and the North East, our riverside accommodation is well positioned for train services to Harrogate, Scarborough and Durham.

Our guest house has its own private car park adjacent to the house (parking is free for our guests) and we are within a few minutes walk of the railway station, making the Abbey an ideal place to stay whether you are travelling by car or by train.  See our Location page for further details.

Our riverside accommodation has five comfortable bedrooms individually decorated and furnished in a modern style and a contemporary dining room which overlooks the garden terrace and the river. Have a look at our Accommodation page for pictures of our rooms. We provide a welcome drink and cake on arrival, full English breakfast including vegetarian options and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits in all guest rooms.
